It's Almost Time! 

Hopefully you have had a wonderful summer! I certainly have; but I am also excited to start the new school year! Below is a list of the items each student needs.

Supply List:
King James Version Bible 
2 boxes of tissues
basic calculator
loose-leaf paper
folder for research project
composition notebook
zippered pencil pouch
1-inch 3-ring binder
colored pencils
erasable pens (blue or black)
pencils (mechanical or regular)
$17 (to purchase a planner and God's World News)

Please come support the Spring Fling, our annual fundraiser, this Friday and Saturday. 

We will be meeting at Valley Worlds of Fun on Friday, May 12th, at 10 am. We will not be meeting at the school first.

Week of May 8th-12th

The school year is quickly coming to an end! Thanks to all that supported the Drive for UR school fundraiser! Don't forget about the NLCA annual Spring Fling on Mother's Day weekend! 

Tests next week:
Tuesday - trial spelling (list 33) and history
Wednesday -  spelling
Thursday - Bible (Romans 12:17-21) and Health

On Friday, May 12th, we are going on our school field trip to Valley Worlds of Fun. We will not be meeting at the school first. Everyone will meet there at 10 a.m.

The school year is quickly coming to an end! The research project is finally complete! 
I offered 10 bonus points to any student that participates in the Drive 4UR School fundraiser on Saturday, 10 bonus points for bringing in any supply for the event, and 10 bonus points for bringing in money or items for the Spring Fling basket raffle. (Please send in the items by Monday.) Thank you for your support!

Week of April 24-28th

Tuesday - history and spelling (list 31)
Wednesday - spelling
Friday - Bible (2 Tim. 3:16-17)

The final day to turn in the research project is on 4/28.

It is time for the annual Spring Fling. Stay tuned for more info to be sent home. The 5th grade class is planning to make a camping themed "basket" in which each student will be asked to donate something.

April 10th-14th

Achievement tests will be Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Each student is required to have a calculator with a square root function.
Please make sure your child is prepared by being well-rested, well-fed (eat breakfast!) and on time. Please send a healthy snack to eat each morning during testing.

The rough draft from the research project is due on Thursday. (The final draft will be due the Friday following spring break.)

Due to testing, Chapel has been moved to Thursday.

We are going to have a math test on Thursday morning.

Our Easter party is Thursday afternoon.

There will be no school on Good Friday!

April 3rd-7th

Congratulations 5th grade! We won the Box Top Challenge...again!!!

Tests next week:
Tuesday - spelling trial test (list 30)
Wednesday - spelling test
Friday - Bible (Romans 12:1-2) and health (chapters 2 and 3)

The final outline from the research project is due on Wednesday, April 5th. It must be coordinate with all 50 note cards. 
Monday is the deadline to order a yearbook. (The cost is $40.)
The deadline for paying for the spring pictures is Wednesday, April 5th. 

Achievement tests will be Monday, April 10 through Wednesday, April 12. We will have an Easter party on Thursday, April 13th. Spring break begins on Good Friday, April 14th and goes through Sunday, April 23rd.
